Creating cultural bridges and connections for greater results

Cross the bridge and transform your intercultural leadership challenges into strengths and opportunities

What I do and how I do it

First of all I’m a ICF Certified Coach. That means I adhere to International Coaching Federation’s Core Competencies: I meet ethical guidelines and professional standards. I commit to establishing formal agreements in all coaching interactions, creating an environment of trust and intimacy with my clients, and assuring full presence, and an open and flexible style. Through continuous active listening and powerful questioning, I reframe and articulate their objectives and self-discoveries, all while creating awareness, designing actions, goal setting, and managing progress and accountability. I work with the above standards all while positioning my clients in an Intercultural framework with specific cultural dimensions within concrete business situations.

Intercultural refers to what happens when the two (or more) culturally different groups come together, interact and communicate. A deep understanding and respect of all cultures assures a richer exchange of ideas and cultural norms and the development of deep and productive relationships. This is where I focus Intercultural Executive Coaching.

Help my clients understand where they stand in the different cultural dimensions

Assist them to discover their own leadership and empathy skills, and thus improve and enrich their professional and personal relationships

Offer them a space to cultivate their leadership approach and a communication style adapted to their newly acquired intercultural environment

Marcela Genis, Founder of MG Coaches, Executive Intercultural Coaching expert

I did my university studies in Mexico and later worked acquiring an ample experience in Quality and Process Management, multidisciplinary and organizational assessments, and Customer Service support functions in organizations known for world-class quality initiatives such as Xerox, American Express and Sony. Who benefits from intercultural coaching?

My Coaching is designed to support leaders that want to learn about a new culture as quickly as possible, and people who are open to discover their own culture, beliefs and values, allowing them to connect with coworkers from different cultures in a new way.

Through a series of coaching sessions, I will accompany you on your path to learning about the importance of interculturality in business environments. I am focused on helping a variety of people:

  • Global Executives that collaborate in or with a Mexican company
  • Mexican Executives that have been or will be assigned a project or position in a foreign country or culture
  • Leaders that now work in a highly diverse culture in a company or new position
  • Executives dealing with cultural changes through mergers or acquisitions, or working with a workforce of different ethnic and national viewpoints, values and expectations
  • Leaders that wish to navigate cross-cultural environments more effectively
